One thing I’ve learned out about writing is that what works for one person might not work for someone else, since everyone has their own preference and style that works for them. It’s important to have the tools that fit you best: think notebooks, pens, pencils, or whatever else tickles your fancy, because having the right stuff can really benefit your creativity and make writing way more fun. Checking out different options can be a game-changer. Here are a few of my go-to tools, complete with Amazon links to check them out. Playing around with various materials can lead to some interesting discoveries about your own writing quirks and help you churn out even more awesome content.

Pens

Pens are like the ultimate weapon for a writer. Personally, a pen needs just two things: awesome ink and a comfy grip. If it’s missing one or the other, it’s a dud. I’ve discovered that the pens from UIXJODO are my favorites. They’re gel pens, so the ink doesn’t smudge, and the grip is super soft, making it easy on my fingers during those long writing marathons. The best part? They won’t cost you an arm and a leg, so whether you’re a student or a pro, you can snag a few without going broke!

Notebooks

Solely relying on my computer to jot down ideas can be slow and all over the place, which is why a writing journal is a lifesaver. I stumbled upon this brand called Compera while searching for a notebook for my morning Bible time. The soft leather cover feels great to the touch, and they come in four calming colors. Additionally, it has an elastic pen holder, so I can grab a pen easily whenever inspiration hits, and the blank pages invite me to doodle, sketch, or jot down random thoughts without the constraints of formatting or digital distractions. (P.S. If you’re more into spiral-bound notebooks, check out these journals for you!)

Hightlighters

Highlighters are such a fun way to add some color to your writing journal and keep track of your main ideas. My favorite spot to grab these is DiverseBee. It’s an awesome faith-based shop my sister found on Amazon. They’ve got everything from highlighters to sticky notes, planner tabs, and more! Their highlighters come in all sorts of types, from water-based to gel, so I definitely recommend that you check out their shop to find the one that suits your taste.

I really hope these tips kickstart your writing journey and keep you on track! Happy writing!
