You’re in a dilemma: you’re a writer, but you have no idea if you’re going to be able to sit down and write today because you don’t think you have enough time. Believe me, I understand the struggle! I’m a high school senior, and I work at a pizza place on the weekends. So how do I make the most of my time? Here are three methods that I’ve found work best for me:
Method 1: Swallow the Frog
Get the hardest and most time-consuming things done first. This could be homework, a project, or even chores. (For me, this is schoolwork and reading.)
Method 2: Prioritize
This ties in with the ‘swallow the frog’ method. What are the most important things you have to do? What are some of the biggest tasks you need to get done? Figure these out and put them in order of importance.
Method 3: Time Blocking
Just as much as blocking is important in writing, it is even more so in real life. Try to block out a certain amount of writing time each day, and keep it consistent throughout your week. (I try my best write in my story and on this blog for at least thirty minutes each.)

Now, these are the ways that work for me, and of course, there are many more that work for different people. If you have any suggestions for how to make the most of the time that you have per day, please feel free to share!
